Welcome to the Royal Canadian Legion - Bells Corners Branch 593

Bells Corners Branch 593
Bells Corners Branch 593 is located in Bells Corners, Nepean Ontario.

The Branch received its charter on May 3 1961. The first location was an old school house.

Today the Branch owns its own, mortgage free, building and, over the years, has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars towards the welfare of veterans and their dependents, the local Queensway Carleton Hospital, seniors residences, army cadets and other community projects.

Eligible students can apply for legion bursaries. Applicants may also apply to Provincial command. Download the Information Package or an Application Form.

The boundaries of the original township (later city) of Nepean are still the boundaries for Branch 593, notwithstanding the recent amalgamation with the city of Ottawa.

For those with an interest in history the name Nepean is after Sir Evan Nepean (the Brits say Nepeen) who was secretary to the board of admiralty during the Napoleonic wars. Sir Evan wrote the orders, for admiral Nelson and his captains, which resulted in the battle of Trafalgar.

Branch 593 is in zone 5 of Ontario District G.
